The Gaerne SG22 introduces several innovations. The 3D Main Body Toe Box features a unique three-dimensional construction, reducing the gap between the sole and the gear lever for faster shifting. The Frontal Shin Guard and Air Vents improve comfort and airflow, while the boot's motion geometry has been enhanced to mimic ankle movements.

The boot incorporates the Razorback design to reduce weight and features the Gaerne Dual Stage Pivot System for ankle protection.
